I went to drop off a order yesterday and drove into a neighborhood that I wished I could live in. It was a gated community with homes that were so beautiful and so BIG. I wished my kids could have their own bedrooms and I could decorate them how I wanted. I wished my kids could ride their bikes on a side walk in front of our house. I wished I could have a maid!
I came home hating my neighborhood and the graffiti that has started to pop up on my surroundings. I started to think of how I can be happy with what I have. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful for my families health and what I do have.....but I just couldn't get it out of my head.

Attract the life you want! but how can you be happy with what you have.... You are always going to want more and it's good to strive to have nice, good things, but what about NOW? I want to be happy with what I have not what I want!

So this morning after dropping Aubrey off I went on a walk. As I was walking I kept thinking "how can I be happy with THIS, the now, the stuff I have, my neighborhood.... Then a light bulb moment.... Meet your neighbors, be happy with the people inside, not the things outside. We as a community can change the neighborhood by being friends and loving each other. Also to be happy with ME and love me from the inside-out. As I was walking home my neighbor Maria stopped in her car and said next time invite me! And I will!

The SPT challenge is one that I have been working on lately. I have not been good at recycling but I am trying! One thing that we have been doing is saving all our soda cans.....we drink way to much....and give them to the "CAN MAN" He walks up and down the streets looking for cans for money. This is how he eats and pays his bills. So not only do I feel that I am helping the environment, I am helping one of our Heavenly Fathers children.

Hillary Weeks

After much digging and prodding and torturing it out of people.... I got it!

At TOFW she did a cute little song to chopsticks and in the song she talked about all the things she had to do during the day.. Well I picked up on the word blog in her song and while we were talking with her I had to ask if she blogged. Yes sir re blog she does!

TOFW

I had such an amazing time on Saturday. I loved the speakers and Hillary Weeks....Loved her! Her songs were so touching and what made me like her even more was how she interacting with the crowd. I also enjoyed Camille Fronk...... I loved watching her on the BYU channel's, Book of Mormon round table! I was impressed by Dean Hughes. I though he might be a "dry councilman" but he wasn't dry at all!

But.. the best part of Saturday was seeing......... Rochelle! She has a blog that I love reading. So during a break I went and introduced myself....."I'm such a dork but I read your blog..... what, why did I say I was a dork..... I got so star-struck by seeing HER I didn't know what to say.....

So for the rest of the day I felt like I was stalking her. I wanted to take a picture without her seeing me. I noticed her coming down the isle and got my camera ready....and... she saw me! I felt like a even bigger dork after that........... She was very nice and stopped for a picture!

She is so flipp'n cute... and nice...THat was the highlight of the whole day!

After it was over the cuties & I went with wanted to go have Hillary sign their cd's well I took their picture and was feeling a little left out so I had Allyson snap this one.... being once again a DORK.

These shoes Grandma sent last year for Easter.

The dog has chewed them up and they look terrible

but she LOVES them and wears them with everything.

They are the noisiest shoes too. One day they were driving

me nuts. She kept walking in the kitchen and dinning room

and pretending to dance. I had to remind myself to be grateful for

the sound and that she won't be little for long.

It was hard!

Field trip

Yesterday I went with Chase and his Class to the Harn Homestead. It is a family farm from the land run that has been turned into a museum. They let the kids go into the school room and see how, in 1897, kids had school. Some of the rules for teachers were.....

no riding in a buggy with someone other than her brother or father.

no dying her hair

no wearing bright colors

she had to be at her home from 8pm to 6am unless it was a school function

no keeping of a male (oh how times have changed)

They next went to the barn where they were able to take the kernels off the cob of corn, separate the corn kernels and grind the corn.

they also cleaned out a horses stall, sawed wood, and planted lettuce

after that they went into the farm house. The kids played in the kitchen and got to play a piano

I rode the bus and almost wet my pants because of all the bumps in the road. TMI (to much information)

This is what I have! A chain link fence... I do have honeysuckle growing on it, but it dies in the winter and then you have a clear view!
