Aubrey wanted Blue but Kalab wanted Blue too....They could not have the same one.
Kalab told Aubrey she wanted Pink not Blue...

Maybe this is what they want for Christmas... who new
My only plant that this could go in is almost DEAD.... maybe I could use one!!

I walked into the living room and found Aubrey and Kalab, standing on chairs,
singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" to the tree
I wish the picture was better because it was such a sweet moment.

I am a little stressed because the last day of school is tomorrow and I don't have teacher gifts yet! What to do...What to do... any ideas???

Holiday recipe extravaganza #1

I have been reading this blog for a while now and have LOVED
her craft ideas and especially her recipes! When I saw this I wanted to
join in. I am a little behind but better late than never!

This is Alisa's recipe she brought it over when I had Kalab.
It will be great for all you left over turkey!

Chicken pot pie

6 Tablespoons butter or margarine
salt to taste
1/8 teaspoon Thyme
6 Tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 cup half & half ( I have used regular milk-and that works fine)
2 cups cooked, then cubed or torn chicken or turkey
1 large carrot, diced and cooked until done
1/2 cup peas, cooked (I have used 1 cup frozen peas, cooked then drained, instead of fresh peas)
4-6 new potatoes, cooked and cubed
1 double crust pastry shell (pillsbury pie crust-red box- or generic -refrigerated section)

Cook first 5 ingredients on low heat until bubbly. Remove from heat and add chicken broth and cream (or milk). Heat to boiling, stirring constantly till thick. Fold together sauce with chicken and vegetables. Pour into uncooked pastry shell. (can mound high in shell) Put pastry shell on top and finish like you would an apple pie - vents. Bake in preheated oven @425 for 30 minutes.
Serve with tossed salad and rolls.
Serves 6-8

Well now that Thanksgiving is over......
I can start listening to Christmas music.
We put our tree up yesterday and had to
replace the lights. So off to Walgreens I went
luckily they were having buy one get one free!

It is waiting for me to get the
ornaments out and dress it.

I thought it would be fun to go downtown and see the
boat parade.... Well I didn't know that there was a
Thunder game going on and the traffic was horrible!
We parked and started to walk to were I thought it was,
NOPE not there! I was not the only one fooled, hundreds of
others were going to the same spot!

We went to the baseball stadium where they make a ramp and put snow on it so you can feel like your tubing down the west mountains in Moroni! People actually pay money to do it too!

We stopped a Braums for ice cream to make us feel better after missing all the fun!

my midnight trip!

So this is what time I left my house last night.....

This is what I did

We went and sat on the front row because it was the only seats we could find!

This is who I went with!

Check out my BLACK eyes! I am in need of a little "FOOD" hehehe

This is what time we got out and headed home.

I went with very LOW expectations. I just didn't think
I would like it. I was worried that the movie would ruin the story
But it was GREAT...
The movie was so gray (in color)
and I know why......
We would have to watch Edward ****sparkle*** through the movie.

Thanks for taking me REG

Last school year, Blayne helped a local high school with their mock trial team. They called and asked him to do it again. Monday night he came home with a gift card that they had given him. It was to Home Depot a store that I frequent on a weekly basis. Well, he told ME I could use it!! Yeah me! I was looking for something and went to the service counter to ask where I might find it...... As I approached the service lady had her finger UP HER NOSE!!! I could not look at her. But I had to ask.... She was nice and I am sure she was embarrassed. But OH HOW GROSS! After I found my item I had to see her one more time....as I passed her in the isle I said thank you!....

**have you ever caught anyone digging for treasures
*****have YOU ever been caught!

my week in pictures

Wednesdays are free at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. So we headed out there to let the kids run around the kids area. They could dress up and play in a log home, ride on saddles, read cowboy books...

Thursday night was Chase's fall program. The songs that they sung were so fun. They sang a song about "I'm a fall guy.... an Autumn man.... I giggled through the whole song.

Taylor's Birthday was Saturday big ONE ONE. NO pictures of the day...... but he had a friend over Friday night and then the kid stayed ALL day Saturday.. He got a football and some Tag body spray and deodorant. OHH that stuff has been sprayed everywhere. At least their room smelled good for a few days.

Monday GIGI and PAPA and Tracey came to spend sometime with us before they left for Utah.... We are so grateful for their example of serving a Mission! We love them and are happy they get to go home and have fun with all the grandkids!
The boys had their last game of the season on Tuesday night. It was to cold and late for me to go and take the little ones. GiGi and aunt Tracey were able to go and support the boys!

They left on Wednesday morning and then that night was scouts. Taylor earned his Webelos badge and crossed over the "bridge" into Boy Scouts! Blayne was on the other end to welcome them.... It was fun that he got to do it with his friend Ryan!

The end.......... Until tonight! We are going to our annual TRUNK OR TREAT

ghost

I saw these on a WAY cute blog that I love to check out!
It is white almond bark melted on pretzel sticks..... little chocolate chips for the eyes...((I use black gel)))
I made them for scouts. The boys loved them and I couldn't believe how easy they were!
I added orange food coloring to a little bit of left over bark and made pumpkins with it.
I think it would be fun to add purple and make little monsters!

Here are some instructions if you need them...... I just kind'a wing'd it

On Sunday I was handed a program and didn't even look at it.
Then towards the end of the meeting I picked it up and this is what I saw. How cute!
I tried to remember when we took the kids to the temple and took this picture.
This picture had been photo shopped with us in front of the temple. I wish they would have made me skinner!

Oh that was a long time ago!

****************Please excuse the pillow that looks like it exploded

We had a fun visitor this last week! We have always loved having the missionaries come and eat with us (((some more than others))) But when they come back to see us it's always a great time!

The first time we met Elder Harrington was at the Thanksgiving Dinner. I was asked to pick up a family, there was a lot of drama involved in trying to find someone to do it. So I dropped my family off and headed to find the house. I got lost and frustrated because I could not find them. I went back to the church and was so upset that I didn't want to stay. Blayne and I were in the hall way, me crying, him upset because I was crying, and there is Elder Harrington watching us. So we ended up leaving and eating at Taco Bell.
He had a lot of time to get to know us after that he served in our ward for 6 months.

My kids loved having him come with Elder Starnes and eat and teach us a lesson. They were great examples of missionaries to my boys!

***Lori, this is one of the missionaries that would come and eat when Tom was here!

funny

The children had the Primary Program on Sunday. It was very sweet and they all did a great job.
My mom called and I had Aubrey say her part. Then I whispered..... sing her a song.
So she started to sing.....

AWKWARD EVER AWKWARD AS WE GLORY IN HIS NAME...
I started to laugh and said....

It's Onward ever Onward

No it's

AWKWARD EVER AWKWARD

Oh so funny!

Then it got me thinking of all the song I thought were one thing and turned out to be something else!

The second verse of I am a Child of God.
And so my knees are gray

Eddie Murphy's "I want to party all the time"
I want to POTTY all the time!

Do you have any songs like that????

funny thing

The Big Boys went camping last night and left me, Kalab and Aubrey home alone.
I let Aubrey and Kalab sleep in the living room for their own camp out.
This morning when Aubrey woke up I asked her...

"How did you sleep?"

And she responded

"With my eyes shut"

Too Funny!
