1 year

It has been one year this week that Blayne was sworn in as a lawyer....wow .. this year has been full of ups and downs..ups being Blayne loves what he is doing and the down side is just financial security. I am so blessed to have Blayne in my life and am so grateful that he works so hard for me and the kids. We are lucky that he loves us so much. It makes me so emotional to think of the time and energy he put into school then studying to take the bar.. we have been truly bless by Heavenly Father these last 4 years.. Blayne was released in June from EQ President. He served for 3 1/2 years in that calling and I know that by serving we were blessed. I hope that our next year will be full of joy and that maybe we can pay off at least one student loan....I love you and thank you for all your hard work....

why I hate toll roads

It all started with an invitation for Chase to go to a birthday party for one of his baseball buddies. This little friend lives out in Edmond which is about 20 mins away. I mapquested the address so we could make sure we got there in plenty of time. Mapquest gave great directions in which I studied very closely, because I didn't think I needed to print them off. It said that it would take approximately 23 mins to get there. Me, Chase, Kalab and Aubrey, loaded up in the car and headed out. First mistake I missed the freeway entrance and Chase pointed this out to me. So I thought I would just go and get on the freeway but going the opposite direction, then get on the turnpike that took you right above his house..big mistake... I thought that it was only .30 cents to drive on but when we got to the booth to throw my change into it, it did not give me the green light. I dug in my purse for more change and a line was forming behind me. So I just started throwing pennies in the machine until the light turned green..... we started on our way... I then missed the next exit to get off the turnpike and then it all went down hill from there.. I was on the toll road that takes you to Tulsa. One thing about toll roads is that there are not any exits just to get off and turn around..I read the sign that said next town 25 miles away UHG. The party had already started and I could not get off the dang road for 25 miles and there is construction going on!!!! We finally get off the stupid road and there is another change machine. I have to pay another dollar, in change, which I don't have because I gave it to the other dumb machine... I am getting so mad... I stiffed the machine..and ran like a banshee..I pulled over and bought me a diet dr. pepper to calm my nerves and asked the cashier about who I had to pay. She told me that it was ok, none of the local ever pay. Feeling some what relieved I got my change and headed out. I go to get back on the road and there is another machine....I only had .60 cents and they want another dollar...what the heck... the road is not that great..For all the money I spent on that road they need to have warning signs.. Like the one in Utah outside of Greenriver that says "No Bull...No services for 105 miles" Thanks for the warning Utah....

We did get to the party a hour latter and dropped Chase off. I HATE TOLL ROADS.. I'll probably get a ticket in the mail...I'll let you know if one shows up...

Oh btw Kalab is sick, that's why I am not at church...

things i made this week

I made head bands from Heather Bailey "sew" supper easy. I finaly found
a quilt shop that has fabric that i love. I will be going back there without the kids.






Next i made Pumpkin chocolate chip squares from Martha Stewart. I have only been able to make 2 things from her, this and roasted chicken....I am going to making the pumpkin squares for our ward party tonight...






Thursday night we had a craft night at the church and we made cute little chip board letters. Mine say FALL and are in fall colors. Way cute... and it was nice to talk with adults.

Twilight

So I think I might be the only one on the blogg'n block that has not read this book....My sis-in-law told me about it and I thought "oh nice I'll read it latter". Then while in Ut she went to her neighbor and borrowed it so I could read it ....well HP was coming out and I wanted to get refreshed on the 6th yr of Harry's school year so I just wasn't interested in it...Then the day came for my little man to finish his last year..Amber and I stood in line at Albertson at midnight for 10 min to get our copies (score) After I finished #7 I didn't read another book... Blogging had taken over my spare time. I have seen the reviews and comments about the book on different blogs so I thought I would reserve it at the library....can I just tell you that I am not the only one with this idea.. There are 19 copies for the whole metro library system.....I am #42 in line to read it. If every one gets to have it for 2 week I might get it in 5-6 WEEKS...can I wait that long... will I ever get to read this book ... I am going to go to Barnes and Noble to see if I can find it TODAY(early birthday)

state fair food

I wanted to try something unique and something I could only see at the OK state fair. After searching up and down the food court I found my lunch.

You have probably heard of deep fried Oreos or deep fried Twinkies or maybe even deep fried pies but have you ever heard of this???

i think that they tasted a lot like french fries that had been mushed up then dipped in a onion ring batter with a little ranch dipping sauce on the side...all in all they weren't to bad. I couldn't eat it all because it left so much grease in my mouth. we had a lot of fun and it was exciting to get to try some new food.

State fair

We went to the fair on Saturday and I will have to share, but first I have to find the camera

cooking 101

Ok I have been on a cooking kick lately and I think that Aubrey has wanted to be part of it.....Well she has been practicing cracking eggs and measuring flour and sugar..... this is what she came up with ...

She had to try it and she got sick.. I guess she still needs some practice!!!!!

Crop circles

Chase was bored on Saturday and needed something to do....so he mowed the lawn. He had no rhyme or reason how he did it he just went around in circles then back and forth, through the middle. He was dancing while he did it too....crazy kid. Well it did not end up like those beautiful works of art that the aliens do but I think with a little practice I could have maybe..... his name in my lawn..

One thing I love about the Internet is finding other peoples ideas and tweaking them and making them your own.. I get a feeling, that is hard to explain, when I see something and the light bulb clicks on. I have seen these on other ladies sites and have thought how cute but then I saw the fabric on a changing pad and thought "I have a pair of Capri's out of that"....then the feeling hit "hey why not make the holder out of my Capri's" I haven't ever worn them, they were given to me by Meghan and I love them but felt they were just to "FLASHY" for me...sorry meghan...but just look what i made from them...I had every thing on hand which is another plus (right Alisa)

It makes the project that much more fun when everything is in reach...

I just need someone that has a baby GIRL to give it too!!!!

school

Our kids have been back in school for almost a month now and I am loving it.... Aubrey is in Pre-K with Miss May and Mrs. Rice...She came home today and said she has 2 best friends, and loves to play outside. I thought it was going to be hard getting her up and going in the morning but it is me that has the problem! Taylor and Chase are liking it too. Chase now has Mrs. Sanderson after a little class rearranging. He is happy because Ami is now in his class. He has a little crush on her.. her name is all over his room in black marker.... Taylor has Miss Strach and is taking violin . But oh how do you get kids to like or just do their homework?

Well I did it....!!!! I am going to give the blog thing a go. I hope that by starting this blog to become a better writer and to write down all the thoughts that I have in my head. I also hope to keep in contact with my friends in other states and to make new ones....
